Preserve your hobby rubber parts with Hyperion Silicone Grease, which is a waterproof grease made by combining a silicone oil with a thickener. This is specially formulated translucent white viscous paste and is a better alternative to petroleum jelly, which otherwise can damage rubber parts. Silicone grease is used with waterproof devices as it has a very thick body and doesn't dissolve in water, where other liquids would. This grease improves water resistance and protects threads from wearing out. Silicone-based lubricants are also commonly used for remote control hobbies, or for the insulation of CPU sockets when Overclocking at very low temperatures.
Various household uses include lubricating door hinges, shower heads, threads on bolts, garden hose threads or any thread or mechanism that can be lubricated. Silicone grease is commonly used for lubricating and preserving rubber parts, such as O-rings. Additionally, silicone grease does not swell or soften the rubber, which can be a problem with hydrocarbon based greases. It functions well as a corrosion-inhibitor and lubricant for purposes that require a thicker lubricant. It is used for heat transfer abilities, rather than friction reduction.
Silicone Grease is compounded from Dimethyl Polysiloxane Fluid, the product has a broad temperature range and is chemically inert, being resistant to; Water (Hot, Cold, Steam & brine), Lubricating Oils, Most Hydrocarbons & Solvents, Natural Gas, Refinery Gases & Condensate and many Acidic Solutions. the excellent dielectric properties of the Grease mean that the product can be used with high voltage electrical systems for lubricating non conducting contracts, preventing corona discharge and for preventing flashover on high voltage anodes.
